Details
The counting of votes in early elections in a key Arizona district is slower than expected, a district official tells CNN.
He said Maricopa County, where most of the state's voters live, will release the first 1.1-1.2 million ballots at about 10 p.m. ET, an hour after polls close. This count will only include votes received through Tuesday, October 29.
According to preliminary estimates, the first wave of ballots, covering votes cast at least through Friday, November 1, will be available in a few days. The official explained that the slowdown is due to two-page ballots, which take longer to process.
Warren, the largest city in Michigan that did not take advantage of the new law that allows early voting to begin processing last Monday, is currently counting those ballots,
As of 4:00 p.m. ET, Warren has already processed and counted at least 10,000 ballots, with another 17,000 remaining to be processed. The city is projected to complete the count by 2 a.m. ET.
