US President-elect Donald Trump has been invited to visit the Scottish island where his mother was born, UNN reports, citing the Independent.

Laborer Torquil Crighton, the new MP for Na h-Eileanan an Iar, sent the newly elected US president a Christmas card with a proposal to visit the village of Tong on the island of Lewis, where Donald Trump's mother was born. Interestingly, the mothers of both men come from this village.
Trump's late mother, Mary Ann McLeod, left Tonga in the 1930s at the age of 18 and moved to America.
“Oceans may separate our political views, but the president and I are sons of Lewis, with mothers from the same village, and I thought it would be a fitting Christmas gesture to invite him home,” said Torquil Crighton.
He added that Mr. Trump's mother, “who returned regularly, is remembered fondly. The President of the United States will certainly receive a warm welcome on the island if he decides to come.
Crighton also joked that the president-elect might pick up some political advice during his trip. His own mother was “the most astute politician in our family, and she could give Donald Trump some invaluable advice,” he said.
Donald Trump is to visit Scotland next year to open a new golf course in Aberdeenshire.
Relations between Labor and Trump's team are strained after his campaign team lashed out at Sir Keir's party and accused it of trying to interfere in the US election following a spat over British activists helping the Democrats.
Donald Trump has visited Lewisie Island before, the last time was in 2008.
