To visit mountain routes in the border area, tourists need permission from the border guards due to temporary restrictions imposed to prevent illegal border crossings.

Tourist mountain routes, for which border guards have recently imposed additional temporary restrictions, will be able to be visited, but it will be necessary to apply to the Chernivtsi border guard detachment for permission. This was stated by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, during a telethon, according to a correspondent of UNN.

There is such a thing as a border regime, which is defined by Government Resolution No. 1147. It applies to a 5 km border strip along the border. Also, in the case of peculiarities in the areas, border guard detachments may impose additional restrictions in the border area. This applies to the area with tourist routes, which is the responsibility of the Chernivtsi border guard detachment. However, if people apply for a permit to the Chernivtsi border guard detachment, such applications will be considered

- Demchenko said.

He added that such measures are introduced in order to prevent or prevent attempts to illegally cross the border.
