TIME magazine has named British musician Elton John the Icon of the Year. This happened on the eve of the release of the new documentary “Elton John: It's Never Too Late” on Disney+, reports UNN.

The publication notes that the musician has been in show business for 60 years, and for 50 of those years he was the frontman of the music scene.
His 57 songs topped various American charts during his “wild childhood” and found a second life in writing songs for Disney cartoons, for which he won two Oscars, and in writing songs for Broadway musicals, for which he won a Tony.
And on the Today program, announcing the nomination, they noted that it is also worth remembering his charitable projects, as Elton John works to fight AIDS and with other organizations.
