Harvesting of melons and vegetables continues in Odesa region. The company has harvested 9 thousand tons of melons on an area of 1.6 thousand hectares and 27 thousand tons of tomatoes on 0.9 thousand hectares, and is also experimentally growing cotton.

The harvest of melons and vegetables continues in Odesa region, and significant results have already been achieved. This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleh Kiper, according to UNN.

Melons and gourds

Harvested on an area of 1.6 thousand hectares;

Gross harvest reaches 9.0 thousand tons;

This year, 3.6 thousand hectares were sown;

Watermelons - 2.7 thousand hectares;

Melons - 0.9 thousand hectares.

Tomato

3.9 thousand hectares were sown;

Harvested on an area of 0.9 thousand hectares;

Gross harvest - 27.0 thousand tons

Cotton

Enterprises in Odesa region are actively growing cotton. The height of the plants in some places reaches more than 50 cm, and flowering is already observed;

Experimental fields: 9 enterprises decided to sow cotton on a total area of over 5 hectares;

Observation is carried out both on irrigated and non-irrigated fields.

These achievements indicate the successful development of agriculture in Odesa region, in particular in the cultivation of melons and tomatoes, as well as interest in experimental cotton crops

As a reminder, experimental cotton fields were planted for the first time in Odesa Oblast. This agricultural raw material is used for the production of smokeless gunpowder, which is necessary to create our own production of an important element of ammunition.
