President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has coordinated positions with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on the eve of a decisive meeting of the European Council, UNN reports.
"We focused on the upcoming European Council summit and the importance of taking historic steps for Ukraine and Europe as a whole. We appreciate Sweden's active support at the level of European institutions," Zelensky wrote.
Zelenskyy also said that during his talks with Kristersson, he thanked Sweden for 14 packages of military aid, including Archers, IRIS-T, powerful CV-90s, and other necessary equipment and ammunition, as well as for its long-term commitment to supporting Ukraine.
"I also believe that the day will come when Sweden's voice in NATO will strongly support Ukraine's membership," Zelensky added.
The President's office also provided details of the meeting. It is reported that Zelenskyy and Kristersson coordinated positions on the eve of a crucial meeting of the European Council, discussing Ukraine's progress in implementing the European Commission's recommendations.
Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of preserving EU unity in approving financial assistance to Ukraine and starting negotiations on Ukraine's future membership in the European Union.
The President thanked Sweden for its significant financial, humanitarian, and military assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, for strengthening our country's defense capabilities, strengthening its air defense, and actively participating in the development of an aviation coalition.
