Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets is preparing an appeal to the UN Economic and Social Council to determine whether the World Russian People's Council (WRPC) complies with UN values. The day before, the WRNR adopted a decree with genocidal rhetoric and disrespect for the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Lubinets reported this on Telegram, UNN reports .
According to the Ombudsman, on March 27, an order entitled "The Present and Future of the Russian World" was approved in Moscow under the chairmanship of the head of the World Russian People's Council, an organization under the auspices of the Russian Orthodox Church. The document, according to Lubinets, is addressed to the legislative and executive authorities in Russia.
The order begins with a definition of the "special military operation" (SMO) and its role in the development of the "Russian world". It is noted that "after the completion of the Special Military Operation, the entire territory of modern Ukraine should be included in the zone of exclusive influence of Russia. The possibility of a Russophobic political regime hostile to Russia and its people, as well as a political regime controlled from an external center hostile to Russia, should be completely excluded on this territory
He pointed out that the order also states that Russia, at the expense of the occupied territories and the Ukrainian population living there, plans to solve its demographic problems through "mass repatriation... of those ready for linguistic and cultural integration" and through the introduction of "an education system to bring it in line with the basic parameters of the sovereign Russian worldview."
He emphasized that this has significant implications for the preservation of Ukrainian identity in the TOT of Ukraine and will have irreparable consequences for children and youth.
The Ombudsman of Ukraine drew attention to this document for several reasons:
- First, it is the legalization of propaganda activities at the level of the central legislative and executive authorities, which are members of the organization's Presidium;
- Secondly, the deputy head of the organization is Konstantin Malofeev, a well-known Russian oligarch. He was involved in financing the campaign to occupy Crimea in 2014 and has been under sanctions since then. However, due to their violation, his confiscated property in the United States will be transferred to Ukraine.
- In addition, despite the genocidal rhetoric and disrespect for the territorial integrity of the sovereign state of Ukraine, which is being conducted by the Russian political elite and the controlled by it AFR, this organization has consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council. The Council is the central mechanism for coordinating the activities of the UN system and its specialized agencies and overseeing subsidiary bodies in the economic, social, environmental and related fields.
That is why I am preparing an appeal to the UN Economic and Social Council to ensure that the above non-governmental organization meets the goals and objectives and is in line with the values of the UN. It is important that the resolution of the Economic and Social Council states that the organization should play an important role in promoting the goals and objectives of the UN
He also said that the Russian Federation uses access to special agencies and subsidiary bodies of the UN to promote its propaganda goals, sow hatred and disrespect for human rights, peace and stability in the world.
