From February 24, 2022, to August 31, 2024, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine documented 376 cases of sexual violence in Ukraine related to the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

Between February 24, 2022, and August 31, 2024, the UN mission documented 376 cases of conflict-related sexual violence involving 262 men, 104 women, 10 girls and 2 boys
It is noted that more than half of the documented cases concern men, mostly those who were tortured in captivity in the occupied territory or in Russia.
The mission emphasized that conflict-related sexual violence is a violation of international human rights, humanitarian and criminal law.
Preventing this kind of violence and bringing the perpetrators to justice is a shared responsibility based on the human rights obligations of states.
Recall
More than 95% of Ukrainian prisoners of war were tortured in Russia. In contrast, the attitude towards Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine is completely different.
