In Lviv, children will sit at school desks earlier after the holidays. The city's winterization headquarters has decided to start the school year on August 19, Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said on Friday, UNN reports.
"To guarantee a full school year, we will start it earlier - on August 19. This decision was made today by the Headquarters for Preparing the City for Winter," Sadovyi wrote on Telegram.
According to him, due to the difficult situation with electricity, Lviv is preparing for different scenarios:
- In the event of a complete blackout, all Lviv schools will become round-the-clock resilience centers where citizens can stay warm and charge their devices;
- if the situation with electricity stabilizes in winter, schools will work as usual.
- The scheduled winter vacation will start on December 21. If the electricity situation worsens, the holidays will be extended. Schools will continue to operate emergency groups for children whose parents cannot leave them at home.
