The number of cases of chickenpox has increased in Poltava region. Over the past week, 188 people were diagnosed with it. This is almost 10 times more than before. Since the beginning of March, the number of patients with chickenpox has been increasing in Poltava Oblast. Last week, 188 people were infected, including 10 adults and the rest were children. Previously, up to 20 cases were detected every week, said Oleksandr Pertsevyi, an epidemiologist at the regional center for disease control and prevention.
"Since the beginning of March, a large number of cases of chickenpox have been registered in Poltava Oblast. In week 9, it was 134 people, in week 10 - 193," continued Oleksandr Pertsevyi, epidemiologist at the regional center for disease control and prevention.
