Details

According to the State Judicial Administration, Ukrainian banks filed nearly 68,000 lawsuits against debtors in the first 10 months of 2024, down 25% from last year. Monobank, A-Bank, and PrivatBank were the most frequent litigants.

By 2021, the number of claims from banks to debtors was gradually increasing and reached 85,000 per year. After the start of the full-scale invasion, the number of appeals almost halved.

In 2023, more than 91 thousand lawsuits were filed, which is even higher than in the pre-war period. In the first 10 months of this year, banks filed 67.9 thousand lawsuits.

Monobank became the leader in terms of the number of claims in 2024 with almost 21 thousand claims, which is 30.8% of the total. The second place was taken by A-Bank with 13 thousand claims (20.1%), and the third place was taken by PrivatBank with 11 thousand claims (16.6%). Prior to the full-scale invasion, PrivatBank, Monobank and A-Bank were also among the leading banks filing claims.
