The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court increased the bail for businessman Borys Kaufmanau to UAH 180 million, thus partially satisfying the prosecutors' complaint. The decision concerns the preventive measure in the case of illegal seizure of Odesa airport. UNN reports this with reference to the court.
It is reported that on November 22, 2023, the HACC Appeals Chamber considered the prosecution's appeal against the decision of the HACC investigating judge of October 26 to change the measure of restraint from detention to bail in the amount of UAH 155 million, with the imposition of procedural obligations under Art. 194 of the CPC of Ukraine.
Based on the results of the consideration, the panel of judges partially satisfied the appeal of the prosecution, canceled the decision of the HACC investigating judge and issued a new decision, which imposed a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 180 million on the suspect, with the imposition of procedural obligations under Art. 194 of the CPC of Ukraine.

At the end of August, Ukraine exposed a criminal group that seized the property of the Odesa International Airport worth UAH 118 million and income from its activities in 2012-2022 in the amount of more than UAH 2.5 billion.
On September 7, the court imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention on one of the suspects in the case of illegal seizure of the airport, namely, well-known Odesa businessman Borys Kaufman, with an alternative of bail in the amount of UAH 268.4 million.
On October 26, 2023, Odesa businessman Borys Kaufman had his preventive measure in the case of seizure of Odesa airport changed from custody to bail in the amount of UAH 155 million.
