A significant increase in passenger traffic is being recorded at the Ukrainian border during the summer period. The vast majority of citizens are heading out of the country. This was stated by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, during a briefing, reports UNN.
Details
Now we have a significant increase in border crossings. All these days… with the exception of perhaps a few… the advantage is exclusively for leaving Ukraine. Sometimes per day, 10, 15, 20 thousand more people may cross the border heading outside Ukraine than crossing the border into Ukraine
He noted that on weekdays, passenger traffic remains at the level of 115-120 thousand border crossings, on weekends - 130-136 thousand crossings.
I emphasize once again that the advantage is for leaving Ukraine, which is why on certain days, certain hours, queues may form. Queues can be both significant and insignificant, but queues are quite often present at the border
According to him, 50% of the queues occur at the border with Poland.
Reminder
Carriers can use permits for regular transportation through the checkpoint "Shehyni" at the points "Nyzhankovychi" and "Smilnytsia".
