The Spanish national team secured its first victory at the 2026 World Cup, confidently defeating Saudi Arabia with a score of 4:0. After a goalless draw with Cape Verde, the Spaniards completely dominated the field and left their opponent no chance, reports UNN.

The score was opened already in the 10th minute by 18-year-old Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal after a pass from Mikel Oyarzabal. For the young footballer, this goal was his first at the World Cup.
Oyarzabal became the hero of the first half. The Spanish national team striker scored twice – in the 21st and 24th minutes, effectively deciding the outcome of the match before the break.

At the start of the second half, the Spaniards' advantage grew even greater. After a shot by Marc Cucurella, the ball bounced off goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais into defender Hassan Al-Tambakti and ended up in the net – 4:0.
The Saudi Arabian national team barely had possession of the ball and took their first shot on target just a few minutes before the final whistle.
In the second match of Group H, the national teams of Uruguay and Cape Verde will face each other.
