The Russians have begun to erase the markings on foreign components used in their missiles more often, says Alexander Ruvin.

The Russians are trying to conceal the fact that they use foreign microelectronics components in their guided aircraft bombs in various ways. This complicates the process of identifying them, but Ukrainian experts still establish the origin of these components and pass on the relevant information to Western partners. This was stated by Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, in an exclusive commentary to UNN.

Details

The Director of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise noted that Ukrainian experts continue to research and identify all types of weapons used by Russia in the war against Ukraine.

According to him, one of the key conclusions is that all types of missiles and drones contain microelectronics not made in Russia, and this fact is confirmed by new incidents every time.

Recently, there have been more cases of deliberate erasure of markings on components that generally ensure the very possibility of using Russian missiles. In particular, foreign components have been found in the main systems of guided aerial bombs (GABs). The enemy hides the manufacturers of the relevant microchips and more technologically advanced parts in every possible way. This complicates the identification process, but Ukrainian experts are making every effort to uncover these facts

- said Oleksandr Ruvin.

He added that thorough research helps to identify suppliers of these components.

"We are carefully analyzing all the components found and cooperating with international partners to prepare the most comprehensive evidence base possible, including helping to identify information about suppliers of this critical microelectronics for the Russian military-industrial complex,"  - summarized the director of KFI.

Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Andriy Haichenko said that information about the components in Russian weapons identified by specialists of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise is being passed on to Ukraine's Western partners. The next step is to track and block the supply chain.
