Russia accused Ukraine of attempting to attack the Kursk NPP without providing evidence. The Center for Strategic Communications believes this is an attempt to blur Russia's responsibility for the seizure of the plant and discredit Ukraine.

Today, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin claimed that the Ukrainian armed forces allegedly tried to attack the Kursk nuclear power plant on the night of August 22, but Russia did not provide any real evidence. In this way, Russia seeks to blur its own responsibility for the seizure of the nuclear power plant, as well as to discredit Ukraine in the eyes of the West. This is reported by the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security, UNN reports.

Details

Russian propagandists are reportedly spreading information that the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly tried to attack the Kursk nuclear power plant on the night of August 22. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting on the situation in the border areas, noting that Moscow had already informed the IAEA about this.

The truth: Russia has not provided any real evidence, which is basically impossible, because the “Ukrainian attack on the Kursk NPP” is an absurd invention of the Kremlin. A strike on the Kursk nuclear power plant could have caused a nuclear disaster, which would have been completely contrary to Ukraine's interests. Such actions would not have improved Ukraine's position on the frontline, would have undermined the trust of the international community, not to mention the fact that the consequences of the accident at the nuclear power plant would have affected not only Russian troops but also civilians in many countries

 , the statement said.

Stratcom emphasized that by accusing Ukraine of attempts to attack ZNPP and Kursk NPP, Moscow seeks to blur its own responsibility for the seizure of ZNPP and discredit Ukraine in the eyes of the West.
