In a short message on Telegram, the Investigative Committee said that Timur Ivanov had been taken into custody and that his case was under investigation.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted by Russian news agencies as saying that a report on Ivanov's detention had already been submitted to President Vladimir Putin. According to him, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu was informed in advance of his detention.
