The list was compiled based on club revenues from television broadcasts, advertising and commerce, as well as ticket and season ticket sales. Transfer income was not taken into account.
Real Madrid was valued at $7.7 billion. By this metric, the "Los Blancos" surpassed Barcelona ($6.65 billion) and Manchester United ($6.47 billion).
