Vladimir Putin congratulated his counterpart on his re-election as Prime Minister. For his part, Narendra Modi said that the Russian-Indian talks on Tuesday, July 9, would further strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
According to the Prime Minister, for the first time in 60 years, the government of one ruling coalition was elected for the third time in a row.
"My principle is to reform, implement and transform. The people of India voted for this principle," he emphasized, promising to work three times harder in his third term as prime minister. "I look forward to tomorrow's talks, which will undoubtedly further strengthen the friendship between us," Mr. Modi wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after his meeting with Vladimir Putin.
During an informal chat with Narendra Modi, Putin took his guest for a ride in an electric car through the grounds of the Novo-Ogaryovo residence near Moscow. The leaders of Russia and India also visited the stables, where they were treated to a show.

On July 8, Narendra Modi arrived in Moscow for a two-day visit. Modi was met at the airport by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. Modi's visit to Russia was his first foreign trip since the parliamentary elections that ended in early June.
