As of today, 111,995 thousand war crimes committed by Russians in the aggressive war against Ukraine have been officially recorded. This was announced by Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin during his speech at the international conference "Freedom or Fear" and noted that this is not the final data, reports a correspondent of UNN.

As of this morning, there are 111,995 thousand registered cases of war crimes in Russia. And this figure is really impressive, but it is not complete. Let's not forget about it. We can only imagine what is happening in the occupied territories

- said Andriy Kostin.

Details

Andriy Kostin also said that Ukraine has already identified 463 suspects in war crimes. Cases against 300 people are being heard in courts, and 70 Russian war criminals have already been convicted.

"This figure may seem small compared to 111 thousand crimes, but when I talk to foreign partners, their reaction is unique," the Prosecutor General said, adding that the world has never had experience in documenting, investigating and prosecuting perpetrators directly during a full-scale war.

Addendum

Andriy Kostin also noted that tens of thousands of Ukrainian civilians are being forcibly detained in the TOT and on the territory of Russia. People with a pro-Ukrainian position are detained on trumped-up charges.

"Even the mere detention of a civilian is a war crime. Torture, ill-treatment, deprivation of access to justice are also separate war crimes, the perpetrators of which must be punished," the Prosecutor General emphasized.

According to the information available to the prosecutor's office, almost 90% of prisoners are subjected to torture and violence. In all the territories liberated from the enemy, 104 torture chambers and places of illegal detention were found. The largest number is in Kharkiv region, namely 25. 18 in Zaporizhzhya, 11 in Kherson and 10 in Donetsk, as well as 19 in the Russian Federation.

Currently, out of 463 identified war crimes suspects, 159 are suspects of illegal detention of civilians. Also, 25 suspects have already been convicted of this crime.
