The Verkhovna Rada plans to adopt the bills necessary for Ukraine's accession to the EU before the decision to start accession negotiations is announced, said Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk during a press conference with European Parliament President Robert Mecola in Brussels, reports UNN .

He added that two of these laws were passed in the first reading at the last session of the Verkhovna Rada.
By the time the decision is made, the Ukrainian parliament will have passed these documents in the second reading. By the time this decision is made, Ukraine will not give anyone any reason to doubt that we meet the Copenhagen criteria and deserve to start negotiations on full membership in the EU

In late November, the Verkhovna Rada held a preparatory meeting on the draft law on minority rights, a document that brings Ukraine closer to the start of EU membership negotiations, so it is expected to be considered as soon as possible.
