The Pentagon has agreed with the private aerospace company Sierra Nevada Corp to develop a new "Doomsday Aircraft", which was named for its ability to survive a nuclear war. This was reported by Reuters, according to UNN.

Work on the Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) project will take place in three states - Colorado, Nevada, and Ohio. According to forecasts, the process will be completed in 12 years - in 2036.
"To meet the operational requirements, the weapon system will consist of a commercial jet aircraft, reinforced and modified to meet military requirements," the publication writes.

Today, the Boeing E-4 Nightwatch is considered the “doomsday plane” in the United States. There are four of these aircraft in the U.S. inventory. Each of them can stay in flight for up to seven days, but only if it is refueled in the sky.
The board is protected from the damaging factors of a nuclear explosion. The aircraft has conference rooms and the latest communication equipment.
