Ukrainian basketball player Vyacheslav Kravtsov, who became the new hero of the 15th season of the STB project "The Bachelor," has been reminded online of his performances for the Moscow basketball club "CSKA" and his statements that "sport is beyond politics," UNN reports.
Details
"It couldn't all happen without a scandal. The new 'Bachelor' went to play for Moscow's 'CSKA' in 2015 and was not interested in politics. Although, maybe there won't be any scandal—where are you going to find bachelors without controversies these days?" journalist Lena Chychenina wrote on Threads.
In the comments, users' opinions were divided: some consider this unacceptable, while others believe that sports and personal life should not be mixed.
"What about the fact that he brought glory to the country playing for the national team? That he is a champion of Spain? That he played in the NBA? And do you even give a f*ck that our president used to travel to Moscow?" some ask in the comments.
Others support the athlete: "But then he left there at the first opportunity and switched to the [Ukrainian] language from the [Russian] tongue earlier than you and before '22, which is more than many a Mykola could manage."
"So many of our athletes played in the 'swamps' [Russia], even current ones representing the national team now; why is no one canceling Zinchenko? Or are we going to have selective canceling? Or, for example, Rakitskyi, who returned home only after '22? Or Usyk, who currently can periodically take photos with Russians and still likes the UOC [MP]? Or maybe we should just accept the fact that none of us are perfect and many people only woke up after '22?" users write.
Users also question the "STB" channel: "How many times can you hit rock bottom? You want to make a guy the Bachelor who was earning money in Moscow at the start of the war? And now hangs out with Russian models."
