Monaco Prosecutor General: No version of the assassination attempt on Yermolayev is a priority

Stéphane Thibault stated that there is currently no priority version regarding the origin of the explosives or the motive for the attack on Ukrainian Vadym Yermolayev. A criminal case has been opened under articles on attempted murder.

Monaco's Attorney General Stéphane Thibault stated that currently no version regarding the assassination attempt on Ukrainian oligarch Vadim Yermolaev is considered a priority. Neither regarding the origin of the explosive substance, nor the motive of the attack. This is reported by Le Figaro, as conveyed by UNN

He also declined to comment on the Ukrainian part of the case, although he mentioned a long videoconference that took place this afternoon with his colleague from Kyiv. 

As the publication notes, the criminal classification of the facts currently remains unchanged, but "may change" as soon as the Monegasque justice system receives the materials sent by Ukraine and other countries that conducted investigations. 

Thus, a criminal case has been opened under the articles "attempted murder, placement of an explosive device in a public area with criminal intent, and criminal association." Stéphane Thibault, in turn, announced an operational meeting aimed at formalizing requests for international legal assistance so that case materials can be transferred between countries

On June 30, an explosion occurred in a residential building in Monaco, as a result of which three people were injured: Vadim Yermolaev, his common-law wife, and their 13-year-old son (the latter are citizens of Ukraine). According to media reports, all three are in the hospital; the condition of Yermolaev and his wife is assessed as serious.

The Office of the Prosecutor General confirmed the opening of criminal proceedings for the attempted murder of businessman Vadim Yermolaev in Monaco, in which his common-law wife and son were also injured.

On July 7, the body of Anastasia Berezovskaya, suspected of the assassination attempt on the family in Monaco, among whom Ukrainian businessman Vadim Yermolaev was named, was found.

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko, together with colleagues from the SBU and the National Police, held an online meeting with the Attorney General of the Principality of Monaco, Stéphane Thibault. They discussed criminal proceedings regarding the assassination attempt on the Yermolaev family in Monaco, as well as the murder of the suspect in the assassination attempt, Anastasia Berezovskaya. Kravchenko emphasized that Ukraine is open to full cooperation in accordance with international legal procedures.
