Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has intensified cooperation with Indo-Pacific countries, concluding a series of defense and economic agreements amid China's growing influence and uncertainty about the US role. This was reported by Bloomberg, writes UNN.

During his three-country tour, Modi agreed to sell supersonic BrahMos cruise missiles to Indonesia and expanded partnership with Australia in defense, energy, and critical minerals. The agreements were reached amid rising security tensions following China's test of a ballistic missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.

According to Bloomberg, these agreements reflect the region's desire to strengthen its own security and economic cooperation, while Washington calls on allies to take on more responsibility and Beijing increases its influence.

According to him, states are increasingly joining forces in defense, maritime security, semiconductor production, and critical mineral supply to reduce dependence on both China and the United States.

During his visit to Australia, Modi also discussed China's ballistic missile test with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. According to India's Foreign Minister Vikram Misri, the sides expressed concern over the situation and reaffirmed their intention to strengthen cooperation to maintain peace, security, and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
