Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen, according to reports in the Finnish media, has rejected a bid for a property in Sysmä, located in Päijät-Häme, Yle reports, writes UNN.
Details
The company of the businessman claiming real estate in Susmä, according to Uutissuomalainen, was involved in government procurement in Russia and had security agencies among its clients.
According to Uutissuomalainen, the property was claimed by a 61-year-old businessman with Swiss and Russian citizenship. He wanted to use the property as a dacha.
According to the decision, the applicant company carries out activities that are related to the military industry, in particular, it specializes in the production of satellite navigation receivers and antennas.
"The company participated in public procurement in russia and had among the clients security bodies. The applicant's company is included in the sanctions list of Ukraine," the statement said.
The refusal was justified, inter alia, on the grounds that, due to the applicant's dual citizenship, he might be obliged to act in the interests of the Russian government.
The ruling has reportedly been appealed to the administrative court and has not yet entered into legal force.
