The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine will continue to fight for the preservation of cultural heritage. According to the ministry, the historical area of Lviv is in danger. This was reported by the press service of the ministry, UNN reports.
Details
The agency will appeal the decision of the Kyiv District Administrative Court of July 15, 2024.
By doing so, he declared the Order of the ICIP of January 22, 2024, No. 35 “On Approval of Scientific and Project Documentation” unlawful.
In fact, this decree approved the historical and architectural reference plan of Lviv. Lviv, defining the boundaries and modes of use of monument protection zones and historical areas.
AddendumAddendum
The ICIP considers this court decision unlawful and not in the interests of the state. The hearing was held without the participation of the parties. The court did not take into account the arguments of the ICIP, which confirmed the legality of the order. In addition, the court refused to satisfy the application of the Lviv City Council to be involved in the case on the side of the ICIP.
The revocation of the order of the Ministry of Culture and Arts creates serious risks for the preservation of the historical character of Lviv and its unique cultural heritage. Unscrupulous developers may take advantage of the situation and start construction work, which will lead to irreparable damage to the unique historical environment of Lviv.
The court's decision has not yet entered into force and will be appealed.
We call on all concerned citizens to publicly support the ICCI in the difficult struggle for the preservation of cultural heritage. Together we can preserve historic Lviv for future generations!
