The lawyer and his accomplice were selling “white” military tickets for $25 thousand. They were served a notice of suspicion of influence peddling, and more than half a million hryvnias were seized.

Law enforcement officers have served a notice of suspicion to a serviceman, a current lawyer, and his civilian accomplice, who helped a person liable for military service evade mobilization for $25,000. UNN reports this with reference to the State Bureau of Investigation and the Prosecutor General's Office.

Details

According to the SBI, the defendants searched for men who did not want to serve and offered them several schemes to avoid military service. In order to make potential clients willing to pay, they were intimidated by raids by TCC employees.

The most expensive thing was to get a "white" military ID card - $25,000. For this money, they promised to settle things with the "right" people in military commissariats and get a decision from the Military Qualification Commission that would declare the recruit unfit for service.

The purchase of a blank summons form with the appropriate stamps for $150 was considered cheaper. When meeting with representatives of the TCC, the buyers of such forms said that they were already summoned to the military commissariat.

The man and his accomplice were detained while receiving the advance. More than half a million hryvnias were seized from the suspects.

Under the procedural supervision of the Dnipro Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office in the Eastern Region, a serviceman and his accomplice were served a notice of suspicion of abuse of influence (Part 2 Art. 28, Part 3 Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The issue of choosing a preventive measure is currently being decided.
