The State Bureau of Investigation has notified a Kherson law enforcement officer of suspicion of violating traffic rules, which led to the death of a person, the SBI informed, , UNNreports.
At the end of September 2024, an accident occurred in Kherson, resulting in the death of a person. As noted, the participant in the incident was a law enforcement officer traveling in a company car.
The law enforcement officer was driving on a secondary road and failed to yield to a car traveling on the main road at an unregulated intersection. A collision occurred, as a result of which the driver of the car sustained multiple injuries and died on the spot.
The law enforcement officer was charged with a traffic violation that caused the victim's death. He faces up to eight years in prison, as well as deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office provides procedural supervision.
