A man complained about police misconduct during a car stop at a checkpoint in Zhytomyr Oblast. The Ombudsman's Office initiated an investigation, which partially confirmed the violations. The police officers were brought to disciplinary responsibility . This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, UNN reports.
A citizen appealed to me with a statement about illegal actions of police officers during the stop of the vehicle he was driving at a checkpoint in Zhytomyr region. The man reported that he was subjected to physical force, threats, obscene language, and his clothes and cell phone were damaged
According to him, the Ombudsman's Office initiated an internal investigation with the leadership of the Zhytomyr Oblast Police.
The internal investigation partially confirmed the information. The police officers who committed the violation of official discipline were brought to disciplinary responsibility.
In addition, a copy of the official investigation report was sent to the territorial department of the State Bureau of Investigation to establish whether the actions of the police officers had signs of a criminal offense.
