In Tbilisi, police officers were reportedly mobilized for several hours to protect public order near the parliament building.
"As a result of the violent actions of the protesters, one employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was injured and received appropriate medical care," the statement reads.
It is noted that law enforcement officers have repeatedly called on the organizers and participants of the rally to obey the demands of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and not to exceed the limits of freedom of assembly established by law.
In a statement, the Georgian Interior Ministry said that the protesters violated public order, resisted law enforcement officers and verbally abused them, resulting in the detention of 14 people.
