In the Rivne region, several men organized an illegal business on the "sunny" stone. They were engaged in the purchase and processing of amber of dubious origin on an industrial scale, followed by the sale of finished products. During the searches, law enforcement officers seized Amber worth more than UAH 2 million. UNN reports with reference to the regional prosecutor's office.

On August 1, law enforcement officers conducted a number of authorized searches at the places of residence of the defendants, as well as on the territory of a construction enterprise in the Rivne region, where the dealers rented premises. It is reported that during the searches, more than 800 kg of raw Amber, tumbled elements of amber stones were seized, the legality of the origin of which is not confirmed by relevant documents, in addition, at home one of the men also found an equipped workshop with equipment for processing "solar" stones.
The estimated value of the seized Amber at the prices of the "black market" exceeds UAH 2 million.
Criminal proceedings have been opened on the fact of illegal acquisition, storage, processing and sale of Amber (part 1 of Article 240-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Now a petition has been sent to the District Court to seize the seized property, and a geological examination of the Stones has been appointed. Law enforcement officers establish the ways of its origin, the circle of all involved persons and other circumstances of a criminal offense.
