According to the police, a six-year-old boy was taken to the intensive care unit of the hospital in serious condition. Shortly after hospitalization, the boy died in a medical facility.
The child's body was sent for forensic examination. The expert concluded that the child's death was caused by a head injury.
As the police found out, the incident occurred on April 17. The boy's mother's partner hit him in the head with his fist, causing him to fall.
Law enforcement detained the offender in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Investigators under the procedural supervision of the Mykolaiv District Prosecutor's Office served the 29-year-old detainee a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional grievous bodily harm that caused the victim's death). The defendant faces up to ten years in prison. The court will soon choose a measure of restraint.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
