We spent several days in the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik. Our parliamentary delegation, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine held meetings at all levels: in the parliament with speakers, representatives of all factions, and the Foreign Affairs Committee, as well as with the Prime Minister, members of the government, and the President of Iceland. It was during our visit that the government introduced a five-year plan to support Ukraine to the parliament. We discussed with members of the government and parliament how this document could be further strengthened, filled with more specifics and support mechanisms
This plan provides for a wide range of measures to support Ukraine, in particular in the context of its accession to NATO and the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula.
During the meeting, the Ukrainian delegation also emphasized the issue of returning all Ukrainian prisoners illegally held in Russia and cooperation in international formats to achieve this goal.
In addition, Arseniy Pushkarenko emphasized Iceland's active support for Ukraine in other areas, including participation in the IT and demining coalitions.
