On Wednesday, the Prague Municipal Court held a hearing in the case of Filip Siman, accused of illegal service in the Ukrainian army and looting at the site of hostilities.
Siman, 27, denied that his motive was not to enrich himself, and that his actions were based on public statements by Czech politicians about impunity for volunteers of Ukrainian battalions.
Prosecutor Martin Biele claims that Siman did not have permission to serve in a foreign army and also accuses him of seizing the property of dead military and civilians.
The session will continue next week, when the scheduled interrogations of witnesses will take place.
