The High Anti-Corruption Court has extended the arrest of former head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine Roman Nasirov until May 26 , but reduced his bail from UAH 70 million to more than UAH 65 million. UNN reports this with reference to the SAPO.

On March 28, 2024, the HACCJ panel of judges, having considered the motion of the SAPO prosecutor and the defense, decided to change the measure of restraint against the former Head of the SFS of Ukraine, who, together with his advisor, is accused of receiving more than UAH 722 million in illegal benefits

- the SAPO said in a statement.

Reportedly, the court partially granted  the motion and imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention until May 26, 2024.

"At the same time, the court once again reduced the amount of bail for the accused as an alternative measure of restraint - from UAH 70 million to UAH 65 million," the SAPO said.

The SAPO also noted that Nasirov was initially held in custody as a preventive measure with an alternative of UAH 523.2 million bail.

Recall

In February, the court reduced Nasirov's bail from over UAH 100 million to over UAH 70 million .

Former Head of the SFS Roman Nasirov and Head of the Department Volodymyr Novikov are accused of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of office that caused grave consequences).

In addition, the former head of the SFS is charged with committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 366 (forgery in office, which caused grave consequences) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The prosecution believes that in 2015-2016, the former head of the SFS, acting in the interests of the People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 8th convocation, personally made a number of unreasonable and illegal decisions on installment plans for the tax debt and obligations of Firm Khas LLC, Karpatnadrainvest LLC, and Nadra Geocenter LLC.

This led to severe consequences in the form of nonreceipt of mandatory payments to the state budget in the amount of more than UAH 2 billion.
