The High Anti-Corruption Court has canceled the suspicion against former MP Hranovskyi in the case of damage to the OPP. The SAPO considers the decision illegal and is preparing an appeal to the HACC Appeals Chamber.

On August 20, the High Anti-Corruption Court canceled the suspicion against former MP Oleksandr Granovsky, who is considered to be the organizer of a corruption scheme to cause UAH 93.3 million in damage to Odesa Port Plant JSC. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office announced its intention to appeal  the judge's decision to cancel the suspicion against the former MP. UNN reports this with reference to the SAPO.

Details

Although the official report does not mention the MP's name, judging by the description, it is Oleksandr Hranovskyi.

In an official statement, the SAPO stated that they categorically disagreed with the decision of the HACC investigating judge of 20.08.2024, which canceled the suspicion of the MP of the VIII convocation.

The prosecutor believes that the evidence collected during the pre-trial investigation indicates the person's involvement in organizing a criminal scheme, the implementation of which during the sale of mineral fertilizers caused losses to Odesa Port Plant JSC (99.57% owned by the state) in the amount of UAH 93.3 million.

Given the available evidence, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office considers this decision of the judge to be illegal and unfounded and is preparing to appeal it to the HACC Appeals Chamber

- , the SAPO said in a statement.

Recall

In October 2022, the NABU and the SAPO served a notice of suspicion to Hranovskyi, who is considered to be the organizer of a corruption scheme that caused UAH 93.3 million in losses to Odesa Port Plant JSC. Mr. Hranovskyi himself stated that he was not interested in Odesa Port Plant and had no influence on its activities.

In February 2024, it was reported that Interpol had blocked the NABU's request for an international search for the former MP, as he was not on the international wanted list.
