Since the beginning of the day, 78 battles have taken place at the front, more than a third of which are in the Pokrovsky direction, where the Defense Forces are holding back the onslaught of Russian troops, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a report for 16 hours on August 19, writes UNN.

The situation in the areas, according to the General Staff, is as follows:
Cynical airstrikes from the airspace of the Russian Federation affect the border areas of Sumy Region. The areas of the settlements of Khotin and Obukhovka were affected by the bombing today. In addition, the Russians launched an airstrike with bunks on Porozka.
Liptsy in Kharkiv region was also bombed by enemy aircraft. In addition, in the Kharkiv direction, the invaders carried out four unsuccessful attacks near Liptsy and Volchansk.
Eight collisions occurred in the Kupyansky Direction. The enemy was advancing towards Torskoye, Glushkovka, Makeyevka, Stelmakhovka and Kruglyakovka. Now half of the attacks continue. The Invaders also hit the Kupyansk-Uzlovoye area twice with Kabami.
In the Limansky direction, the invading army stormed the positions of our defenders nine times. The enemy was most active from the side of Ploshchanka.
In the Seversky Direction, six clashes occurred during the day. The enemy advanced near Verkhnekamenskoye, disputed and Ivano-Daryevka. Now there are still three fights going on.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy carried out two assaults near Ivanovo and Andreevka. Near the last battle, the clash continues.
In the Toretsk direction, the invaders increased the number of attacks to nine - they attacked near New York, Toretsk, Zhelezny and Nelipovka. Seven battles are over, and two more are continuing. In addition, the invaders carried out six airstrikes, dropping nine Kabs, on Shcherbinovka, Nelipovka and Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsky direction, the Russians carried out attacks in the areas of Vozdvizhenka, Novogrodovka, Zelenoe pole, Kalinovo, Nikolaevka, Ptiche, Mikhaylovka, Kamyshevka and Mirolyubovka settlements. The Defense Forces are holding back the onslaught of Russian troops and have repelled 24 attacks, five clashes continue. Enemy losses in this direction are being clarified. The Enemy also launched three unguided airstrikes on Alexandropol.
In the Kurakhovsky direction, the invaders unsuccessfully attacked five times near Nevelsky and Konstantinovka.
In the Vremovsky direction, the enemy used aviation for strikes - three times they hit bunks in the area of the village of Makarovka. In addition, he conducted three assault operations - he tried to advance from Vladimirovka and Solodky, and also conducted an attack in the Vodiane area.
In the Pridneprovsky and Orekhovsky directions, the invaders have not yet carried out offensive and assault operations. But they carried out airstrikes smearing sixty bunks in the direction of Pyatikhatok, Gulyai-pole and Olgovka. In addition, three aerial bombs were dropped in the areas of Novodanilovka and Temirovka.
