At least 29 people were killed on Tuesday when a fire engulfed the Masquerade underground nightclub in Istanbul, Turkey, during renovations, Turkish local authorities said, blaming an accident during the work, UNN reports, citing Reuters and Anadolu.

It is stated that 29 people died and another person was injured in a fire in one of Istanbul's entertainment centers.
According to local authorities, the fire occurred during repair work.
The establishment was located under a 16-story building in the Beşiktaş district.
Thirty-one fire trucks and 86 firefighters were engaged in the firefighting operations. The flames were extinguished.
An investigation has been launched into the matter.
