In the near future, Europe will be able to produce the necessary number of shells to provide Ukraine with them, Czech President Petr Pavel said, UNN reports with reference to Radio Liberty.
In the near future, European companies will be able to produce the necessary amount of ammunition to replenish the stockpiles of European countries, as well as to provide Ukraine with ammunition if it needs it in the near future
According to him, the Czech Republic is trying to deliver ammunition to Ukraine "as quickly as possible." Although the production of the required number of shells takes time.
"Ukraine needs shells now. We cannot wait for European companies, so we are trying to find ammunition wherever we can. We want to deliver it to Ukraine as soon as possible. But at the same time, we are increasing our own capacities," said Petr Pavel.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the Czech Republic is using Cold War contacts to buy ammunition for Ukraine. Due to blocked US aid, slowed munitions production in the West, and dwindling Ukrainian stockpiles, Prague is buying from countries that are allies of Moscow.
