Russian troops have significantly intensified their activities in the south of Donetsk region, using more than 450 drones per day and doubling the intensity of artillery shelling to three thousand rounds. This was reported by Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for the defense forces of southern Ukraine , during a telethon, UNN reports.
"The enemy used more than 450 drones over the last day. In addition, the use of reconnaissance drones has almost doubled or even tripled. The amount of ammunition used by the enemy during artillery shelling has also almost doubled. Earlier there were up to 1,000 or 1,500 thousand of these munitions, but now it is actually 3,000," Voloshyn said.
He claims that the enemy has become more active, and the reason for this is an attempt to take control of the south of Donetsk region and reach the border of Dnipropetrovs'k region at any cost.
"They also want to take control of Velyka Novosilka, cutting off logistical routes for our forces in the Kurakhove sector," the spokesman said.
