The so-called witness in the Shcherban case, Ihor Maryinkov, was not personally acquainted with Yulia Tymoshenko. This was reported by the press service of "Batkivshchyna" with reference to his statement during interrogation at a court hearing as part of investigative actions, answering questions from Yulia Tymoshenko's defense counsel Serhiy Vlasenko, reports
In particular, answering the question "whether the witness was personally acquainted," he stated that he "was not, as he had no such need."
To the defense counsel's question "whether the witness was acquainted with Lazarenko," he stated that he "did not know him personally."
When Yulia Tymoshenko's defense counsel asked "whether he was acquainted with Kyrychenko," the witness stated that "he shook hands a few times, but was not personally introduced."
To a clarifying question from Serhiy Vlasenko, "whether Maryinkov was personally present during the 'meeting' of Milchenko-Kushnir-Tymoshenko, which he spoke about, the witness replied that he "saw how they 'chatted nicely,' but was not present at this meeting."
When Serhiy Vlasenko asked the witness about the fate of the people involved in the case – Milchenko, Kushnir, and Ryabin – the witness was unable to provide clear answers to these questions immediately.
To which defense counsel Serhiy Vlasenko noted: "I want to remind you that they have been deceased (dead) for more than 10 years."
