Balikesir Governor Ismail Ustaoglu said that, according to preliminary data, 12 people were killed and 3 people were injured in an explosion that occurred at an explosives factory in the Karesi district.
The headman of a village near the site of the explosion said the blast was very strong and shaking was felt. Stating that there was no possibility of sabotage at the plant during the explosion, Governor Ustaoglu added that investigations were continuing to determine the number of people inside.
