The EU should fulfill its commitments to Ukraine and provide air defense equipment. Western armies have about 100 Patriot batteries, while Ukraine is asking for only seven of them. This was stated by EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell during a speech at the Nueva Economia Forum, UNN reports.
"The situation is extremely difficult. The Russian military machine is running at full speed. With significant costs, but at full speed," the diplomat emphasized.
He called for an increase in air defense capabilities so that Ukraine can stop Russian missiles and their bombs that destroy urban infrastructure.
Borrell also noted that it is necessary to talk more about how to avoid destruction rather than about reconstruction in Ukraine. The best way to spend less money on reconstruction is to spend more on preventing destruction," the EU High Representative said.

"In the next European elections, you will see how Russian destabilization will threaten our democracy. But the prospect of a high-intensity conventional war in Europe is no longer a fantasy," the diplomat added.
