In Odesa, police detained a man who started a fight in one of the city's restaurants. The man faces up to 8 years in prison. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Main Department of the National Police in Odesa region.
Details
The agency said that the incident occurred in the evening near a restaurant in the Kyiv district of the city. Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that a drunken visitor to the establishment began to verbally harass the company of other visitors.
At first, they did not react to the offensive words, but later one of the citizens made a remark to the stranger. This angered the offender and he punched the man in the face, causing him to fall, hit his head on the asphalt and lose consciousness.
Officers of Police Department No. 4 of Odesa District Police Department No. 1 detained the offender at the scene of the crime.
Having gathered sufficient evidence, investigators notified the defendant of suspicion of intentional grievous bodily harm that was dangerous to the victim's life at the time of infliction. This crime is classified under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and is punishable by imprisonment for five to eight years. At the request of the police, the court imposed on the suspect a custodial measure of restraint. The investigation is ongoing

Doctors hospitalized the victim with fractures of the bones of the nose, vault and base of the skull, open head injury, bruises and hemorrhages, and reported the incident to the police.
