"A source with knowledge of the issue confirmed these Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) were only authorized for use in the Kursk area, where North Korean troops have been deployed," Axios writes.
According to Axios, the source said that "Biden's decision was communicated to Ukraine around three days ago".
He reportedly said that the motive behind the decision was to deter North Korea from sending additional troops to Russia for a war against Ukraine.
A Pentagon spokesperson, as noted, refused to comment on the issue.
Earlier, numerous media outlets reported that U.S. President Joe Biden had approved Ukraine's use of long-range missiles against Russian and North Korean forces in the Kursk region.
According to the publication, this is the first time that Biden has allowed Ukraine to use long-range missiles supplied by the United States to strike Russian territory.
