According to Austria’s National Meteorological Service, the new record exceeded the figure set just one day earlier.

On Tuesday, the historic maximum was 41 degrees and was recorded in the country’s capital, Vienna.

This July has already become the fourth-hottest in the history of meteorological observations in Austria.
