According to the investigation, the murder of the official may have been prepared under the supervision of representatives of the Russian Federation. A 34-year-old former serviceman acted as an intermediary between the customer and the potential perpetrator of the crime, the prosecutor's office reported.
In early 2026, as stated, he received an offer to find a perpetrator for the murder. The customer promised $100,000 for the implementation. After that, the suspect, as noted, began to search for a perpetrator, offered participation to his acquaintance, and provided the customer's contacts for direct communication.

As established, the customer also transferred $22,000 as an advance to a crypto wallet for the preparation of the crime and provided the perpetrators with detailed information about the victim, his lifestyle, and daily routine," the PGO stated.
