On July 10, celebrations took place at the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra on the occasion of the 975th anniversary of the shrine's founding and the day of remembrance of St. Anthony of the Caves. UNN reports this.
Details
The liturgy was held with the participation of a delegation from Mount Athos. This is one of the first services in the Dormition Cathedral after a Russian "Shahed" drone struck it on June 15.
Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov noted that the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra has stood in the heart of Ukraine for almost a thousand years "as one of the main shrines, a witness to our history, and a pillar of Ukrainian statehood."
Despite constant Russian shelling, terror, and the enemy's attempts to break us, we continue to protect our shrines and stand together. Within these ancient walls, a common prayer sounds for the Ukrainian people, our defenders, for a just peace, and for our victory
Reminder
The government established the Ukrainian National Pantheon as a memorial complex within the National Reserve "Kyiv Pechersk Lavra."
