Residents of Russia’s Samara region are complaining of an acute gasoline shortage. According to them, lines at gas stations in Samara and Tolyatti sometimes stretch for more than a kilometer, ASTRA reports, writes UNN.

The situation is particularly difficult in Syzran, where only some gas stations are operating. Many gas stations have no AI-92, AI-95, or AI-98 gasoline—only diesel fuel and gas are available. Drivers are trying to get in line as early as 5 a.m.
A local resident said that some drivers cannot refuel for one to three days and are forced to travel approximately 100 kilometers for gasoline.
The longest lines in Samara are forming at Rosneft gas stations. AI-95 gasoline is in the shortest supply. Some gas stations are selling only diesel fuel.
On August 17, the authorities of the Samara region extended restrictions on gasoline sales for another two weeks. Customers are allowed to purchase no more than 10 liters of fuel per transaction.
Problems with gasoline availability are emerging against the backdrop of Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries and related infrastructure. Earlier, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs stated that drone attacks had put about one-third of the capacity of Russian oil refineries out of operation.
